I'm not a fan of the auto formatting in either Visual Studio or Jetbrains Rider. Both are tightly integrated to their respective editors and not easy to run as indepenent processes. They are not easy to configure. This code formatter is built ground up to be a CLI tool, and therefore easy to integrate with your workflow regardless of your choice of code editor.
