DISCLAIMER

This is a big WIP, code at the moment is just code thrown at the editor to have a super early MVP of this, it will be evolved as time goes on. Don't take any of this code as good practice, cause it is not, in fact, it is quite the opposite.

Hello this is Bigweld

Bigweld intention is to be a bot "project manager", in the sense that Bigweld will help you with the development process. Bigweld will manage project tasks, teams, progress on tasks. Want to know what your colleague is coding on the other side of the world? Ask Bigweld, he will most likely know that. You are looking for something to do? Ask Bigweld for a task, he will provide you with something. Don't bother to memorize commands to talk to Bigweld, he will understand natural language just "fine", at least I hope so.

How will he do that?

Well. The idea is to use a npm package called natural. This package implements a series of natural language algorithms. At start I plan on using classification for the bot to understand what does the user want. If that proves not to be enough intelligence for Bigweld something else will be figured out.

Why a bot?

Doing process stuff, ticking tasks as complete, getting new tasks, reporting progress on real process management software can be boring, most software used by companies is outdated, slow, hard to use. It ends up being a pain to cope with the company process. A bot in theory would solve some of that. Bots have the advantage of using chat as the user interface, so using a bot is just like talking to a coworker. At least it should be, this leads us to the next topic

Bots are boring to use, so many commands to memorize

Well, one big flaws of chatbots, at least for me, is the fact that you need to memorize strict syntax to be able to access it's features e.g @generic-bot /alarm "this is the alarm title" #channeltoring friday 6 p.m why can't we just say Hey @generic-bot ring #channeltoring at 6 p.m on friday, tell them this is the alarm title with Bigweld you will most likely be able to.
