0 - If running on Windows, you should move this folder ('Objective-UI') to your "C" drive so that it is C:\Objective-UI\
1 - Install the VSCode/NPM suite:
[VSCode] https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/?dv=win
[NPM ] https://nodejs.org/
2 - "OBJ-UI.exe" requires .NET 6 (or highter) installed:
[.NET Runtime] https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download
3 - the work will be more comfortable if you create an environment variable (user) in your OS pointing to this CLI directory.
So you can call it without specifying a long path
4 - to create a project, use this command inside the desired directory: obj-ui new-project
(You can do this from the VSCode terminal)
============================================================
- What is the "Objective-UI" project?
It is a FrontEnd SPA framework written in TypeScript and declarative syntax,
capable of consuming any JavaScript library.
- Why do we need this CLI?
Because it is able to automate necessary tasks such as linking and merging SDK source files,
invoking other CLIs such as TSC (TypescriptCompiler), tweaking files and etc.
- How to debug?
After the build process you can put a BreakPoint in your .js files
============================================================
CLI args:
_> "obj-ui new-project"
===> Creates a new project based on a default template INSIDE the current directory
note that this DOES NOT CREATE a project directory, you must first create it
------------------------------------------------------------
_> "obj-ui new-project -t=TEMPLATE_NAME"
'-t' will specify a project template to be based on.
the project templates must be in .zip and inside the directory C:\Objective-UI\project-templates\
------------------------------------------------------------
_> "obj-ui -clear"
===> Clear the distribution folder: removes your code .js files, index.html; keep lib's .js files.
------------------------------------------------------------
_> "obj-ui -sw"
===> '-sw' creates a Service Worker .js file with all references for your app
------------------------------------------------------------
_> "obj-ui -build"
===> Generates the output (*.js) files in the distribution folder known in your project:
('dist', 'wwwroot', 'www', 'publish', 'website', 'webroot', 'distribution', 'product', 'app', 'webapp')
-------------------------------------------------------------
_> "obj-ui -build -sdk"
===> Recompiles the Objective-UI SDK from sources, which should be located in C:\Objective-UI\SDK\
And then do the -build step
-------------------------------------------------------------
_> "obj-ui -build -p='YOUR_PROJECT_PATH'"
===> '-p' will specify the full path of your project.
Normally this is not necessary, as the CLI recognizes the working path in which it was called
But for whatever reason if need be, there it is :)
