Wellington
A React.js layout editor that makes defining and displaying hierarchical (e.g. pages of rows of columns of elements) layouts easy.
Why "Wellington"?
The name is intended/rationalized to be a triple-entendre:
-
It was originally built to help with a project for the fine folks at Winsborough Limited specifically those in the Wellington, NZ office.
-
While looking for naming inspiration I came across a Wikipedia article on military formations (think columns of soldiers) that mentioned Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington and his defeat against the column-based French armies at Waterloo. I suppose we hope to defeat the difficulties of column-based layout with this module.
-
In an effort to add a third entendre consider a sliced section view of Beef Wellington. The layers of pastry and beef resemble the nesting of multiple elements in a complex layout.
